WORKSHOP ON PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFICCKING AND SMUGGLING
DATE: 6 of November 2018 at 1:00 PM
LOCATION: Casa del Lector, Aula 10. Matadero Madrid
SOURCE OF THE INITIATIVE:
As part of the project financed by the City of Madrid, the Enfermeras Para el Mundo organization is organizing the project titled “Fight Against Trafficking of Children and Adolescents for the purpose of sexual commercial violence by the means of attention, prevention and impact in the department of La Paz, Bolivia”. They have prepared materials and workshops aimed at the prevention of human trafficking and smuggling for the purpose of sexual commercial violence directed at different groups.
TARGET OF THE INITIATIVE:
Since human trafficking and smuggling is a multi-causal phenomenon that starts in developing countries like Bolivia, where victims are taken and that ends in developed countries like Spain where these victims end up sexually exploited, we believe that it is important to extend these activities of prevention and awareness of the crime of human trafficking and smuggling to the Spanish society and Madrid in particular to try to end this criminal activity that is one of the greatest human rights violations and that converts women and children to sex slaves.
And to achieve that, thanks to the possibilities brought to us by the Forum, we will give a workshop on prevention of human trafficking and smuggling for the purpose of sexual violence that have already been held in La Paz, Bolivia. We will be joined by the staff from the Municipal Autonomous Government of La Paz and we will use the materials and dynamics that have been designed as part of the project financed by the City of Madrid.
There will be a participative workshop for the participants where we will use different dynamics and role playing to give visibility to how the human trafficking and smuggling work. This will generate a debate among the participants on the crime of trafficking.
These dynamics have already been carried out in La Paz and have shown that, thanks to these games, the persons participating understand better what this criminal activity is about and the factors involves in it than when they just attend a talk about the matter.
