The IOC has the support of a Scientific Committee, in which experts in the field participate, in charge of supporting the elaboration of concept notes and other contents of the programme.

The IOC for the third edition of the Forum met for the first time in Ciudad de México in October 2019, integrating entities that were part of the Forum in previous editions and incorporating new interested actors.

Each member of the IOC has planned specific contributions to the process towards the third edition of the World Forum, among which the following stand out: organization of previous activities; provision of technical resources and tools for the construction of Forum contents; support for communication actions, convening and advocacy in regional and global discussion spaces; among others.

The presence in this Organizing Committee of these entities generates great synergies. The active presence of UCLG is of great importance, since it assumed, in its World Council of November 2018, the Commitment approved in the 2nd Forum. The presence of other city networks such as Mayors for Peace, Metropolis and Educating Cities is also critical for these synergies.

Within the spectrum of United Nations agencies, the presence of UNDP (ART Initiative), UN-HABITAT and the greater involvement for this 3rd edition of UN Women and other agencies is noteworthy.

The presence of AECID, SEGIB, UCCI and some Euro-Latin American cities (Madrid, Barcelona, México, Bogotá, San Salvador, La Paz, among others) provides another remarkable regional strength.

AIPAZ and the Colegio de la Frontera Norte represent institutions of knowledge generation and management, which are also very important for the production of the contents of the Forum.

The organizing committee will be joined by entities from México that will ground the dynamics of the global forum at the local and national level, as well as Latin American regional entities, or connection with other instances and global forums.
